RHEES JOHNSON, LMFT

Rhees Johnson is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), and the clinical director of psychotherapy for Ampelis Health. His work at Ampelis is focused on cultivating high-quality psychotherapy and other mental health services. Rhees completed a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University and a BA in Family, Consumer, and Human Development from Utah State University. He is a member of the Utah Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (UAMFT) and has been in the mental health field for almost a decade.

Rhees describes his therapy approach as focused, empathetic, and intentional. He specializes in treating clients as a whole, considering the systemic factors that come from physical, mental, social, and spiritual areas that impact well-being. Rhees treats each client as a unique individual, customizing the therapy approach to meet their needs. With clients, he regularly evaluates how treatment is going and makes adjustments to help clients meet their goals.

He sees clients ages 13 and up, and has extensive experience working with teens, young adults, and adults. Rhees has worked with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, OCD, life transitions, and emotional distress related to spirituality/religion. He utilizes several theoretical approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and others. Rhees is located at the Ampelis Health Office in Pleasant View (North Ogden area).
